INTRODUCTION:
Torque is defined as the force which tends to produce rotation, specifically the moment of a tangential effort. The power output of (or input to) a rotating device is directly related to force and speed. Two general methods are available for measuring torque both providing an electrical signal proportional to the torque. These are in-line rotating shaft torque sensors and reaction torque sensors.
APPLICATIONS:
IEICOS Torque Sensors (transducers) have found hundreds of applications in Torque or Power measurements for performance evaluation of engines, turbines, motors, pumps, propellers, etc., and are available in various ranges from 1 kgm To 1000 kgm. Some sample applications are shown in the figure below.
Apart from the above applications the sensors can be used for evaluation of performance of any rotating machinery. The sensors have been used in tests of automobiles, vessels, ships, belt conveyors, rolling mills and drilling operations and have also been built for very custom specific applications as required by our customers.
Main features of IEICOS Torque Sensors are:
1) Relatively low cost. 2) Highly accurate. 3) Good frequency response. 4) Provides maximum adaptability 5) Directly adoptable for automatic control in feedback system.
